Water Treatment

Conditioning

Canada’s Pro Plumbing can provide a full line of water conditioning and protection services, including a free water test to determine the condition of your water!
Are your showerheads and faucet aerators showing signs of scale buildup? Does your toilet have a dark, staining buildup at the bottom passage? If so, then you probably have hard water!

Hard water cannot only cause constant dripping of faucets, but can cause permanent damage to mating surfaces in faucets as well as the exterior finish. Hard water will cause a mineral deposit to build up on the inside passages of a toilet bowl, causing it to flush poorly and eventually need replacing.

By installing a water softener, you can avoid these costly plumbing repairs as well as avoid other problems associated with hard water, such as a lack of sudsing with bar soap and shampoos as well as dish and laundry detergents. You can actually save money by using less of these products to do the same job, by combining them with softened water. Many people complain about dry, itchy skin after showering, well this condition can be associated with hard water.

Protection

Is my water safe?

If you are living in the country, then you are probably receiving your water from either a cistern or a well. Both of these can be a potential source of harmful bacteria, such as E.Coli, coliform and a host of others. Even if you live in a rural area with a municipal water supply, history has proven that you are still not protected from these harmful bacteria.  By not drinking this water, you are creating a false sense of security. If you are bathing, showering or brushing your teeth with tap water, then you are still exposing yourself to unnecessary danger through contamination by way of ears, nose and mouth.

Canada’s Pro Plumbing will provide a free water sample test, and a complete analysis of what you need to install to insure that you and your family are protected.

Why am I buying bottled water?

Carrying heavy cases of bottled water to the car and then from the car and into the house. Why do we do this when all we have to do is fill a glass with water that is the exact same as the bottled water we are purchasing.

How can I do this?

Just have Canada’s Pro Plumbing install a reverse Osmosis water system in your home. In many cases this system can be installed to the water dispenser on you refrigerator, allowing you to have clean, cold water at your fingertips.

If you consider the cost of bottled water and the fact of all of the plastic water bottles going into a landfill, this should be reason enough to have a Reverse Osmosis system installed in your home.

Drips per Minute

For smaller/slower leaks... simply count the number of drips in one minute from the leaky fixture.
Note: 5 drips per second amounts to a steady stream.

"Bucket & Stopwatch Method"

For larger/more rapid leaks hold an 8 ounce cup under the dripping fixture and time, in seconds, how long it takes to fill the cup.
